Unitree Robotics accelerates production to meet surging global demand

(China Daily) Unitree Robotics is accelerating efforts to expand its production capacity to meet surging global demand in the rapidly evolving robotics sector, the company told China Daily.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange said on March 20 that it has accepted the initial public offering application of Unitree Robotics. According to the company's prospectus, it plans to raise 4.202 billion yuan ($580 million), with proceeds earmarked for robot model research and development, core component development, new product innovation, and the construction of an intelligent manufacturing base.

Among the planned investments, 624 million yuan will be used to build the manufacturing facility, which will feature automated production lines and enable a transition from labor-intensive assembly to standardized, large-scale production.

The project is designed to deliver an annual output of 75,000 humanoid robots and 115,000 quadruped robots, marking a significant step toward enhancing the company's automated and large-scale delivery capabilities.

Industry forecasts point to robust growth potential. Data from GGII show that by 2030, global shipments of humanoid robots are expected to reach about 605,700 units, with the market size estimated at $15 billion. Shipments of quadruped robots are projected to exceed 560,000 units, with a market value surpassing 8 billion yuan.

By scaling up production and improving operational efficiency, the company said it aims to better meet increasing order demand, shorten delivery cycles, and reduce unit costs, thereby strengthening its price competitiveness and consolidating its position in the global robotics market.
