(Xinhua) China has stepped up credit support for technology companies this year, with half of the sector's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) receiving loans by the end of the second quarter, official data showed Tuesday.  

The proportion of tech SMEs receiving loan support increased 3.2 percentage points compared to the same period last year, according to the People's Bank of China (PBOC), the country's central bank.  

Outstanding loans to tech SMEs in both local and foreign currencies stood at 3.46 trillion yuan (about 484 billion U.S. dollars) by Q2, surging 22.9 percent year on year. This growth rate outpaced overall loan growth by 16.1 percentage points, the PBOC said in a report.

This achievement marks Huawei's return to the summit after a challenging six-year period, with shipments reaching 12.5 million units, capturing an 18.1 percent market share in the country, from April to June this year, IDC said.

More than half of the 6,134 drones delivered are for agricultural use, the statement said.

The report also noted that internet penetration in China reached 79.7 percent by June 2025, an increase of 1.1 percentage points compared with December 2024.  

According to the report, China has made significant strides in internet development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).

(Xinhua) China National Space Administration (CNSA) has issued a new directive to enhance quality supervision of commercial space projects, outlining clear responsibilities for key players.  

Released on Monday, the directive aims to upgrade quality standards and foster "orderly development" in the sector by detailing management rules across the lifecycle of projects, from design and manufacturing through launches and operations to recovery and decommissioning.
