(China Daily) Commercial application of China's cutting-edge autonomous driving technology is spreading globally as Chinese enterprises speed up efforts to expand their presence in overseas markets and deploy robotaxi fleets.  

Residents in some Middle East cities, for example, will be able to hail robotaxis developed by Chinese companies via ride-hailing apps on their mobile phones before year's end.

(China Daily) China's foreign trade grew by 3.5 percent year-on-year to 25.7 trillion yuan ($3.58 trillion) in the first seven months of 2025, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs on Thursday.  

Exports rose by 7.3 percent year-on-year to 15.31 trillion yuan between January and July, while imports declined by 1.6 percent during the same period, totaling 10.39 trillion yuan.

(Xinhua) U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he plans to impose a 100 percent tariff on imported semiconductors.  

"We'll be putting a tariff of approximately 100 percent on chips and semiconductors. But if you're building in the United States of America, there's no charge," he told reporters at the White House.  

Together with Apple's Chief Executive Tim Cook, he also announced that Apple plans to invest an additional 100 billion U.S. dollars in the United States.

(Xinhua) China on Thursday announced that it has successfully completed a comprehensive test for the landing and takeoff of its manned lunar lander at a test site in Huailai County, Hebei Province.  

The test completed on Wednesday represents a key step in the development of China's manned lunar exploration program, and it also marks the first time that China has carried out a test for extraterrestrial landing and takeoff of a manned spacecraft, said the China Manned Space Agency.

(Xinhua) China has issued a plan to accelerate the digital transformation of its machinery sector, aiming to create more smart factories and promote a wide range of applications for intelligent technology.  

The document, published by eight government agencies including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, sets out a roadmap to upgrade the machinery sector through digital technology.
